Interesting Facts from A to Z

We want the best for your teeth. That's why we have put some information together here to help you the next time you visit our practice. It can also help you understand more about prevention and other dentistry topics.

Preventative care: At least every 6 months

As a general rule, it is recommended for people whose teeth and gums are in good condition to come in to see us for a checkup at least twice a year. This will ensure that problems are caught in a timely manner, which will save you both time and money. If your teeth or gums are predisposed to problems, you may want to make an appointment every 3 or 4 months until any problems are stablilized.

Our tip: If you like early morning or late afternoon appointments, schudule for your next appointment while you are still at the office.

Starting With a Good Foundation

Proper oral hygiene habits are learned early.  As soon as your toddler can manage a toothbrush (24-30 months), consistent morning and nightime brushing can create beneficial habits that last a lifetime.  Remember, young children should use a non-fluoride toothpaste as swallowing fluoride toothpaste can be harmful.

Bay Hill Family Dental recommends a first dental visit somewhere in the third year.  Establishing regular visits at a young age has proven to improve the health and stability of adult teeth.
